Beginning as a monthly party in Nashville centered around friends spinning the hip hop records they love THE BOOM BAP quickly became internationally recognized amongst DJ’s and party goers a brand on its own. Local talent spin records round robbin style on 4 turntables with a special guest DJ. Going on its sixth year The Boom Bap is currently happening montly in Nashville, and Miami, with pop ups in Philly and NYC. The Boom Bap has worked with some big names in the hip hop world including DJ Premier, DJ Scratch and Tony Touch (just to name a few) and look forward to bringing our 3rd monthly residency to Atlanta this month!

    SATURDAY May 24th @ THE FIVE SPOT Nashville, TN – Long before he was Jay Z’s tour DJ for all of 2008 and 2009, or a Global Brand Ambassador for Adidas for 2010, Neil Armstrong was a humble, fan of music. Acknowledged as the founding father of the DJ Collective the “5th Platoon”, Neil was born and breed in NYC, cutting his teeth in the early 90’s during the era of backpack Hip-Hop and the art of Turntablism. His time spent in the trenches battling and mastering the art of spinning allowed him to rock shows alongside artists across the Hip-Hop spectrum – from De La Soul, The Roots, Company Flow and Biz Markie, to Kanye West, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes and Wyclef Jean.

    THURSDAY January 23rd @ BLACKBIRD ORDINARY, Miami, FL – Jay Ski was the official tour DJ for the New Jazz Philosophy tour, featuring Busta Rhymes, The Roots, Common, Talib Kweli, Mya, The Pharcyde, EPMD, Mobb Deep, and more. Jay Ski can also be heard weekly on Monie Love’s XM radio show called “Ladies First”, as he produces and mixes on channel 65/Sirius 39 on the old school channel “Backspin”. Jay’s latest accomplishment is being the DJ for the “One World Hip Hop Championship”, in which three episodes have aired on MTV2, hosted by Philadelphia hip hop legend Parry P.
