What is The Boom Bap
The Boom Bap is the classic hip-hop party Case Bloom started in Nashville in 2008. The first edition ran at The Blue Bar; after Case moved to Philadelphia, the party grew into a multi-city round robin — Medusa Lounge in Philly (later Fluid) and The 5 Spot back home in Nashville — with later chapters in Miami and Atlanta.
Each city runs its own home team. Nashville: Rate Wonder, Donno Dagger (host), Bowls, and Case Bloom. Philly: Lil Dave, Apple Juce, and Case Bloom. Miami: DJ Ynot and Soarse Spoken, with Case Bloom and Rate Wonder trading off. Atlanta: AppleJac, Jaycee, and Fort Knox, with Case Bloom and Rate Wonder. Guest DJs over the years have included 9th Wonder, Rich Medina, DJ Aktive, DJ Nu-Mark, DJ Scratch, Chris Villa, Skratch Bastid, DJ Maseo, Spinderella, Prince Paul, and DJ Cash Money. The performer register below documents 90+ DJs from the series’ flyer archive.
