DJ Statik aka Mr. Sonny James is well versed in music and hip hop culture as a writer, DJ, producer, videographer, and actor. Most known for his role as co-founder of Philadelphia’s most prolific and well-respected DJ/Production crew, Illvibe Collective he has maintained a solid following in the Philadelphia, Tri State Area.

He is the official tour DJ for the legendary MC, Bahamadia and other international hip-hop artists, including Hezekiah, Shape of Broad Minds, and Mr. Lif. Famously noted as “your DJ’s favorite DJ,” Statik’s sets have regularly hit popular venues such as Insert Coins (Las Vegas) Santos Party House, SOBs, APT (NYC), Whisper Club, Morgan’s Pier (Philly), and DUSK Nightclub (AC). He is an annual staple at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX and at Miami’s Winter Music Conference on South Beach.

Additionally, Sonny’s’s full and diverse roster currently includes a DJ residency for Heineken Green Room, events affiliated with two.one.five magazine; TASTY TREATS co-founded by Questlove, the legendary Beat Society producer showcase, a regular night in Philly with DJ Spinna, and various guest DJ sets around the world. Sonny’s musicality as a producer can be heard on various remixes as well as on the Illvibe Collective debut album All Together Now released on SoulSpazm/Fat Beats in 2011.

With a wide mixtape catalogue, a growing reputation in the international club scene, and a diverse spectrum of musical genres, Mr. Sonny James is regarded as a true taste maker on his way to legendary status.
