Funky Good Time

Founded by Case in Nashville in August 2007, Funky Good Time is a monthly funk and soul party built around deep, danceable selections rather than any single sub-genre — all-vinyl funk, soul, disco and R&B, mixed in with the classics.

The current edition

First Saturdays at The 5 Spot in East Nashville, 10pm–2am, $10 cover.

Resident DJs Radski, Brer Sunshine, Stephany Medina and Case Bloom, with Will Reiss on live drums, hosted by Dono Dagger.

Notable guests

Rich Medina, Bootsy Collins, DJ Nu-Mark, Breakbeat Lou, House Shoes, DJ Day, Eli of Soul Clap — and in recent years Zernell (May 2024), RAW WAX (August 2024), DJ Nu-Mark (September 2024), Matthew Law (December 2024), Wally Sparks (July 2025), Esteban La Grue (August 2025) and DJ Bee (September 2026).

Special editions

One-offs and twists on the format have included the Halloween Hangover (November 2025), the last party of the year (December 2025), a 4th-of-July edition after the fireworks (2026), and a Loft Party at Mel’s Vault (February 2026).
