East Side Shakedown

Welcome to the Shakedown, where retro soul meets modern menagerie. The lights will be low, the booze will be cold, and the throwback jams will be ample.

In 2015, Case teamed up with Do615 to throw a monthly dance party at The Basement East in East Nashville. The format was simple: Case behind the decks with a different special guest each month, spinning party classics late into the night — usually 10 PM to 3 AM, 21+, a few bucks at the door.

The 2015 run

  • June 20, 2015 — The inaugural Shakedown, held as the official after-party of the East Side Social mini fest (featuring Diarrhea Planet and The Features). DJ Case Bloom with special guests James Farmer & The Lischey Boys playing live covers of party classics. Free with a fest ticket, $5 without.
  • July 18, 2015 — Special guest vocalist Pia Ercole (the former Juilliard opera student turned DJ, known for the Fhloston Paradigm project with King Britt). $5, 21+.
  • August 15, 2015 — “$5 all you can dance.”
  • September 12, 2015 — Presented by PBR and Do615. “$2 for all you can dance — come get loose after Live On The Green wraps up,” with drink specials and jams all night.
  • October 17, 2015 — Case joined by special guest Amerigo Gazaway, his childhood friend. PBR drink specials all night, $5 all you can dance.

A favorite footnote: Amerigo Gazaway met his wife at one of the 2015 Shakedowns, after his DJ set.

Ten-year anniversary

On June 21, 2025 — ten years to the weekend after the inaugural party — the Shakedown returned for one night at The 5 Spot in East Nashville ($5 with RSVP, $10 without). As Case put it:
