Originally from Philadelphia DJ Excel, a 20 year music veteran holds a reputation as one of the few “childhood prodigyʼs” in the DJ industry. DJing before the technological advancements of laptops and serato, Excel embodies innate talent and inhibits encyclopedia knowledge of a wide range of music. His extended catalog is the blueprint to his ability to create, remix, cut and blend sets that are often imitated yet never duplicated.

A small sampling of DJ Excel’s extensive client list includes: Jay-Z, Nas, LeBron James, Rhianna, Mick Jagger, Gil Scott Heron, Jazzy Jeff, A-trak and many more. Offering his talent to records as well, Excel has laid cuts on Jazzy Jeffʼs “The Magnificent”, and Sat Oneʼs “After Midnight”. Proving his diversity, Excel’s many corporate clients include: Mercedes Benz, Belvedere, NFL, T-Mobile, Marquise Jet, HBO and more. Surpassing many with his intrinsic talent, Excel also provides original crafted sounds that have the worldʼs greatest crowd controllers spinning his notorious “EXCELARATOR” remixes in regular rotation on their own sets.

In 2009, Excel took the opportunity move to Los Angeles and work alongside Gomez Warren IV as “Audible Agent”. Whatever the alias or title, DJ Excel is one of the few who can play the dirtiest hip hop, the raving house sounds, the soul of funk, the dance of the 80ʼs and all the popular hits and not jeopardize the quality of the music.

Jay Ski can also be heard weekly on Monie Love’s XM radio show called “Ladies First”, as he produces and mixes on channel 65/Sirius 39 on the old school channel “Backspin”. Jay’s latest accomplishment is being the DJ for the “One World Hip Hop Championship”, in which three episodes have aired on MTV2, hosted by Philadelphia hip hop legend Parry P.

    SATURDAY October 27th @ THE FIVE SPOT — DJ Cash Money is a Philadelphia-based turntablist, hip-hop artist, and record producer. Cash Money perfected the Transformers scratch (w/Jazzy Jeff), the Pee Wee Herman scratch and pioneered the Chirp scratch. He’s competed internationally, winning the DJ World Championship in the late ’80s and being named Greatest DJ in the World. If that wasn’t honor enough, turntable manufacturer Technics made Cash Money the first inductee into the DJ Hall of Fame in 1998.
