PHILLY! This Friday (March 13) Little Big Things Crew returns to The Trestle Inn for yet another funky jump off! This month we’ve got DC heavy hitter and music historian NITEKRAWLER ( Kevin Coombe ) joining us! When it comes to this record stuff Kevin does not play ( except for literally playing records ). He’s one of the most knowledgeable dudes in the game and one hell of a DJ! As always: No cover, Whiskey Drinks, Go-Go Dancers, Tiny Records, and FUN! Hope to see you in the place!

ABOUT DJ NITEKRAWLER

We gotta say, not many DJs in the game can throw down an all-45 set of downright obscure and forgotten 45s while maintaining a high level of feel-good party rocking craftsmanship. Kevin Coombe a.k.a DJ Nitekrawler has been honing his skills at H Street’s Little Miss Whiskey’s Golden Dollar for years. His MONEYTOWN party continues to be D.C.’s best outlet for a dance-friendly mix of funk, soul, boogaloo, breakbeats, Latin, and more.

The Washington Post writes, “DJ Nitekrawler has getting crowds to dance down to a science: wickedly funky drums. Deep, rubbery bass. Punching horns. Shaking tambourine. The unmistakable chicka-chicka shuffle of wah-wah guitar.” He’s not only a schooled DJ dropping mean grooves, but a catalyst behind the cataloging of records by legends and lesser-known artists of the Washington D.C. & Maryland funk, soul, & R&B era of the ’60s to the early ’90s (including all related sub-genres and descendants such as Go-Go and Disco). In 2010, DJ Nitekrawler was featured on NPR’s Morning Edition and is working on a book that delves deeper into the D.C. and Maryland music.
